Just before the start of your period, the levels of the hormones Estrogen, Serotonin and Cortisol in your body will change. For many women, these hormonal changes mean cravings. Some women crave salty foods, others sweets and some fatty foods. To prevent yourself from going overboard manage these cravings as much as possible. Rather than eating an entire tub of ice cream treat yourself to an ice-cream cone. Instead of eating a grab bag to yourself just have a regular sized bar.

So, basically as long as you keep your chocolate "fixes" small, you should find that you could definately include them as part of a balanced, healthy and varied diet.
