Symptoms like depression, mood swings, anxiety, irritability, fluid retention, breast tenderness, bloating, food cravings, headaches and sleep disturbances affect 75% of women. 20% of those women's symptoms are so severe that they need medical treatment! Some of us have such extreme symptoms that the problem has been given it's own name: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Why isn't it talked about more? Why is it still shrugged off as 'women's things' or just being 'crazy' Why is it that I have to explain my diagnosis to almost every medical professional other than my regular Gyno?
