MASTALGIA (Breast pain)
Breast pain will affect most women at some point in their lives. In most cases it is thankfully mild and occurs just before your period. For some women-(especially those with PMDD) it is much more severe.
Breast pain DOES NOT increase your risk of Breast Cancer, but it is important to be breast aware and seek medical advice should you notice any changes. A lot of women with breast pain often worry that the pain is caused by cancer...usually, breast cancer first develops with a painless lump so rest assured, pain is not an early symptom.
Always see your doctor if you have any concerns about your breasts, in particular, a lump in the breast or armpit, abnormal nipple discharge and a change in the appearance or sensation of your nipple.
