Well.....where to start. I love it, I hate it and then I love it again. I had the coil implanted on the 29th of April 2014 which means that it will release 20 micrograms of Levonorgestrel into my body every 24 hours. They last 5 years and so it's due for removal on the 29th April 2019.
I had to phone my G.P this morning though as after a full week of spotting and being almost unable to walk due to dysmenorrhea and serious water retention (knees and ankles) I have finally had enough this time around. Again. I explained my symptoms to the lady on the phone who then said to have it removed. They couldn't fit me in until the 9th of June so obviously it's not anything too serious or untoward. As anybody who reads the posts knows I am due for my HRT patches next Wednesday so hopefully there will be no changes in how I feel. Unless it's for the better of course, I do hope for that. Fingers crossed it all goes well.
I'm confused as to why all of a sudden I'm experiencing these symptoms. It feels almost as if it's run out but it's not due to until April 2019. Has anybody experienced similar? Maybe my body has just got used to the Levonorgestrel which it's been pumped with and trying it's hardest to get back to some sort of normality??
Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated, even if you think it may not be applicable. It most likely could be.
Enjoy your day today, whatever you are doing and remember to be kind to YOU!
