Think about how you’ve handled your PMDD symptoms up until now. What’s worked and what hasn't, what are you still unsure of? If, like me, you have had trouble managing your PMDD (and all its lovely little symptoms we just couldn't do without) It is highly possible that you have been holding on to untrue, negative and self-defeating habits. These habits keep us stuck. Holding onto these patterns is basically refusing to let go. I understand it is easier to stay where you are-after all its probably more comfortable and less scary than change but if things don't change they will stay as they are. Can you honestly say you are happy to live out the rest of your life like this?!? Thought not! For example: if you already know that symptom tracking is a good idea but you never get around to it because basically you have neither the time or inclination to do so then maybe you are not allowing yourself to break old habits.
I became so familiar with my habits that they felt like home. I didn't have the energy to do anything different. I didn't think I needed to. In order for changes to happen I had to accept that my pattern had to be interrupted somewhere. I needed to surrender, accept that even though my coping mechanisms had got me this far that there were better ones, positive ones waiting to be let out.
Looking at the most positive ways of coping could be a good place to start in making your life a little easier.
I hope you are all having a truly amazing day. Stay strong.
