In a word- YES.
A physical examination including a pelvic examination should be performed to rule out other medical conditions that can mimic PMS and PMDD.
These are: Anaemia Autoimmune disorders Hypothyroidism Diabetes Seizure disorders Endometriosis Chronic fatigue syndrome Fibromyalgia Collagen vascular disease Irritable bowel syndrome and Idiopathic cyclic edema.
Remember never to leave anything out whilst discussing your health with your G.P. Something that may seem so small and insignificant to you may draw red flags for your doctor and change the whole route of you getting well.
Could you imagine being diagnosed with PMDD only to find out that after years of doing what you thought was right that you didn't even have it!?
