Hey everyone.
I would just like to introduce myself. My name is Sam. I'm 30 years old and I live in Leeds, UK. I've been living with PMDD for between 12-13 years. I loose count. I live at home with my partner, 3 kids and the start of a zoo. (Like, honestly) I'm a massive animal lover, love almost all sports (ex leisure centre manager) and love talking about PMDD.
My vision.
I want to create a place where people can talk about anything and everything PMDD related. It's that important to me. I went many years thinking I was a weirdo, crazy and a nut job. That I was the only one going through this. I went years with other people making me feel the same way too. But I was wrong. Probably more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. There are most likely millions of women who deal with this disorder alone, some not even knowing they have it.
Now that's scary, huh
Scary to think that women are (amongst other things) experiencing pain they cannot explain or take away, thoughts they cannot shift, insomnia, paranoia and some even trying to take their own lives.
We need to stop it dictating our lives. The only thing I can do is this... Try to create a support network and a place to compile all useful information about PMDD.
So, now it's up to you.
Because it's you holding the power. You have a voice and I beg you use it. Talk on this forum about anything and everything you want as long as it's PMDD orientated. That's the only way to be noticed. We need to stand out from the crowd. Tell them we won't tolerate the disorder being shoved under the carpet with the rest of them. We want a cure. Something to stop this life feeling almost like hell.
So, before I get into a rant please read the forum rules and disclaimer which can be found in the introductions sub-section!! These are extremely important.
I will be posting almost daily so please check back. Don't be shy, say hi.
Thank you for taking the time to have a nosey and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.
Thanks again,
~S
